taking a cot apart

by trolly @ 08 Apr. 2006 - 16:59:52

i took apart the cot in my daughter's bedroom today; it'd been there for the last couple of years mainly used as a convenient dumping point to store stuff in. but there, also, just in case.

but just in case just didn't happen.

so taking it down is final recognition that there will be no more babies: just my daughter, me and he. we three.

and now the cot is stored away in bits in the garage; and i dunno, it put me in bad-feeling-sorry-for-myself kinda mood, which has taken most of the day to shake off.

and now i feel

that i may well end up drinking too much tonight.

The sadness for what never was and will now probably never be, is a strange one, but still a sadness.
Look after yorself.

thanks, Suzee, just needed to get it out of my system; i managed to get the whole of the garage tidied yesterday on the back of feeling grumpy and needing to throw stuff about (ish)....

Well done!
I have my Dead Dad's bike (how weird does that sound..?!) taking up space in my passageway. it's in the way of tools and stuff. It's too difficult to get into attic and getting rid of it would be acknowledgement of me not going to use bike and weird because it was Dad's. Today we wrapped it carefully and put it out the back - Decision put on hold for a while...:)

it's funny, well, it's not really, how stuff holds us in this way.

i should've put the cot away last year, but couldn't. and so i'm there cross with myself and feeling sorry for myself, and it's daft.

i'm going to give the cot away - and soon; it'll spoil if i don't and that'd be a shame.

Good idea - Give someone else a chance to love it and build memories... :)
